What to Expect ?

Montenegro is a beautiful country, a country of extremes. From the warm waters and beaches of the Adriatic coastline, to the ice cold waters of the Tara Canyon, the infrastructure in the areas the race will visit is limited and largely unpopulated. At the beginning of October days could be warm and sunny or they could be cold with some snow on the Sinjajevina Plateau. Fog is a definite hazard along with mist in the lower lying valleys. The Tara River will normally be running at it's lowest levels after the summer, but just a couple of days of rain prior to the race, or a generally wet summer can turn the rivers and canyons into hazardous terrain. Our advice - be prepared for any eventuality - in the course of 48 hours in canyons, river valleys, on mountain peaks and plateaus, through forests and across lakes you will surely experience most types of weather conditions!
